A motorcyclist died after his bike crashed and hit a telegraph pole in Carterton, police said today.

At 6.45pm yesterday, three motorcyclists were travelling east along Burford Road towards the junction with Monham Way.

Just before the junction, one of the riders, on a black and orange Honda motorcycle, crashed off the road and collided with a wooden electricity pole.

The 30-year-old man died as a result of his injuries. No one else was injured.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact Sgt Pete Jell at Bicester Roads Policing Department on 08458 505505, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

I remember when you were about 5 years old and we were walking home from school and you asked me,How old will you be when I'm your age? So I told you,and how old will you be when I'm that age you asked,so I told you and how old will you be when I'm that age,so I told you. This when on for a while until I was in my thousands so I said to you.By that age I'll probably be dead and you said - why, will you be sick of living?

Steven.....

You always made everyone laugh, you were always smiling and living life to the full! Your daughter and family i have no doubt will be so proud of what you acheived in your short life. Ste, it doesnt make sense of why you were taken the way and when you were but you should know that you will never ever be forgotten. You really did make an impression on everyone you came across. Such a nice lad you were, such a shame and tragedy! Im sure you will live on in your daughter. Rest in Peace sweetheart. See you up there x
